Moved to a busier open plan area at work... Currently use sennheiser HD 202's and a 30gig ipod classic with mp3's (192kbps or so). The HD 202's are a bit tired , I could just replace the pads... but as usual a plan starts to form.
I want isolation, good all round sound mostly rock ( Metallica, Rammstein etc to much softer stuff & some vocal like Tiny Ruins etc).
Now NZ (and chch) isa bit of a pain to audition some stuff.
Thinking of some HD 518's or 595's or some of the closed back ones (HD 280's)?
Also prepared to re-rip my music to something better, and throw a headphone amp into the mix if it helps too.
This can be achieved with a larger ipod or store the music on a HDD and play via PC + digital out I assume to some kind of DAC/amp? Or just add an amp to the ipod?
