Very Interesting.

Imaging having to do that before your morning commute.

This got me thinking, in a race what kind of MPG would a F1 car do?

I'm sure I read recently that a current F1 engine cannot turn over without the engine being hotter than it's operating temperature!

the block needs to be pre-warmed for 24 hours with (very) hot oil running through it just to allow all the internals to move because they are 'snugly' machined to fit

Must be a right PITA to do that every morning when you just want to nip out and get the papers. At least there isn;t a windscreen to defrost.

About 4mpg, most of them. Which is not bad for 750-ish horsepower nailed open the whole time!
