Report: Goodwood Sunday Service
Pics and thanks for one of the best-attended PHSS meets ever

More or less every space in the paddock and public areas of Goodwood were filled with all manner of exotica, with everything from a sparkling Mk1 Jag to a 5-occupant Fiat 126 (really) to a Ferrari FF on show. So thanks to all those who braved the sunny but slippery conditions - especially those who, like Garlick, encountered ice at rather unfortunate moments...
Also a massive thanks must go to all the staff at Goodwood for their help and organisational excellence, and also to the commitment and utter disregard for frostbite of PHers C2james, The Hypno-Toad, Happy Eater and Burts24 while
Of course, there is also the matter of the most festive car competition.Despite some fine entries from the likes of a spangly silver MR2 and an R33 Skyline with its own fairy lights, and many other tinsel-wrapped motors, the winner can only be NWVT, for his baubled-up Focus RS. The judges especially liked his dash-mounted snow scene and this, combined with Santa trousers and reindeer (or possibly moose-based) hat, sealed the deal. Enjoy your pair of Festival of Speed tickets, Nick...
Finally, thank you all for your support this year and, more importantly, your attendance - Sunday Services would be rubbish if it was Just Garlick and his TVR. Roll on 2012!

Ps - Due to the PH/Autosport show at the NEC in January, there will be no Sunday Service until February 2012 - more details to follow in the New Year.

I going to make a real effort to get over in the new year, rude not to as I'm only down the road!
A reminder of how quickly things can happen, even if you are driving according to the conditions.

got up at 7.30 and left the house at 8.00 - took me 15 minutes to de-ice the beast (Defender cabrio with 5.0 TVR engine), but still annoyed the neighbours as usual - arrived at 10.30 - park up - just having a nose at the red Ferrari FF when I get the call - Missus has vomiting bug and have to come all the way back. Not even time for a coffee and a chin-wag.
On my way out a young lad with his dad starts taking pictures of her - says she sounds 'awesome' (1985 so no cats, 4-2-1 manifolds and twin 3- inch pipes coming out the back)so I rev her a cople of times and he's grinning like a cheshire cat.
Makes my day - console myself on the long drag home that I must be doing something right. Roll on summer!

Agreed, the RS Focus was the winner for sure, the stickers down the side of the front door and wing made me laugh...
Great day! Thanks.
