I have a pair of vintage Tannoy T225 dual concentric floor standing speakers and was wondering what they might be worth?

I hear that some of the vintage Tannoys are very well regarded and to be fair they are the best sounding speakers I have ever owned by a large margin. I had them in storage for a while and since coming out one of them is not working, I think a wire has come loose as the cones etc are fine.

So, any ideas anyone? Ballpark figures welcome.

Cheers,

Joe

£99 for a mint refurbed pair with stands. (Seems a bit cheap i would have thought).
So about £10 for broken ones.(Can't imagine Tannoy refurb is less than £200.

They aren't vintage, just early 80's.

Actually, these are what I have. Thanks for the help though, much appreciated. I don't suppose anyone can recommend a place to get them checked over and get the silent one singing again? biggrin At the £100-£200 mark I'm much better off keeping them and slipping them into my home cinema setup somewhere... scratchchin

I'm in the Central London, Notting Hill area?

Thanks again.

There was a small HiFi dealer round the back of Edgware Rd Bakerloo station that specialised in retro kit, (worth a nose to see some classic gear, not been in the area for a while and can't remember the name. Might be worth a try if your central.

Just around the corner from you are Wembley Loudspeaker (in Shepherd's Bush not Wembley). They did a good job with a pair of old JBLs I had fixed a couple of years ago.

There is no better place than Wilmslow Audio in Broughton Astley, Leicestershire.
Give them a call first.
