Need valeting suggestions

I picked the OH up from her Xmas party on Friday night, got 90% of the way home before she managed to projectile vomit the entire contents of her stomach, mainly a 3 course meal and a few bottles of champagne all over the inside door, dash, gear knob, and handbrake of my company car....delightful.

Rather than doing the gentlemanly thing and cleaning it up for her, i took her car to work on Saturday and left her to clean up her mess.

I'll give it to her she did a better job than i thought she would, but i've still spent all morning trying to properly valet the interior,which is now clean and sparkling, BUT, it still stinks.

So im need the wealth of knowledge that PH provides....Please throw as many suggestions as you can at me on how to rid the car of this very very unplesant odour!

Febreeze.

If it's had a real good deep clean, then you'd need to treat the odour separately. If not, get her to clean it again.

Neutradol worked wonders for me after finding some a range of questionable odours in the back of my touring.
I found Febreeze leaves a bit of a sickly, sweet smell in the air whilst Neutradol doesn't.

It helps to treat the area, but leave the windows cracked open a little, too.

your best bet is getting it wet vac'd to drawn out any sicky moisture in the fabric of the carpet or seat.
This way it'll be clean rather then masked by smellies

Enzyme based cleaners work very well on this sort of problem, whereas with normal detergents, no matter how often you clean it the smell still lingers.

Nope she didnt manage to get any in the vents thank god. I have scrubbed the seats & carpets with a range of different upholstery cleaners (foamy type and wet type), febreezed about 10 times, and cleaned all the plastics with some disinfectant, but still to no avail.

Will the the neutrodol a try.

Check the runners to the seats, My Mrs did this a few yrs ago in my sister car after she picked us up.

I cleaned and cleaner the car but it still stunk, turned out to be bits of puke in the seat runners still.

Well i've continued cleaning and managed to pull of a few bits of plastic trim to reveal various hidey holes of vomit.

All the advice much appreciated, i think this is going to take a while!

Although im sure fire would have the desired affect, im sure the company would look dimly on me setting fire to a demonstrator.

My Mrs spilt a WHOLE SAUCEPAN full of moules mariniere into the rear footwell of our Passat! As you can imagine after a 24 hours it was unbearable. Its just a case of hot soapy water and lots of scrubbing, wait for it to dry, then do it again.....& again....& again! After about 6 or 7 soapy scrubs over the course of a week I managed to get the smell out. I'd imagine your in the same boat!

Recently got a Maxolen car pet kit and it comes with a really good odour remover.

I had this exact problem a while ago.

Tip loads of bicarbonate of soda over where the vom was and leave to soak. Hoover off later and this will get a lot of gunk out.

I ended up getting the car properly valeted though because there was still a slight whiff of vom on warm days.

Soak some cloth's in Milton Sterilising Fluid and lay them over the affected area, change the cloth's every six hours or so over a 24 hour period. This should kill of the enzymes causing the smell.
