Cooper 2003 passenger seat

Could anyone confirm for certain that the passenger seat should slide forwards after releasing & folding the back to get a back seat passenger in?
The seat in mine tips but doesn't slide. I had it looked at by Coopers of Reading who recommended a new seat base. The dealer I bought the car from bought one and fitted it themselves today but it's still the same and it doesn't slide when folded forwards.
Am I missing something or have they just done something wrong?

The base slides forwards as you fold the seat on my 52 plate Cooper.

Fixed! I took it back to them today and demonstrated that it still doesn't work so they took it back into the workshop for a hour. Seems there was just some sort of link that was unclipped

Yeah they break really easily. Both of mine went years ago and BMW quoted me £350 a seat to replace. I chose not to bother as no1 ever goes in the back.
