Flat Front RS / Capri 3.0 S
Discussion
Looking at current prices cant help but wish I'd kept two cars from my youth. Firstly a MKII RS Flat Front, all the bits including twin 45's, drank like a fish, registration TEC 512R, great noise and road holding. Secondly a 3.0s, Blue, fish nets ( crucial ) MK 3, XAO 476S , I owned both cars in the early eighties, sold the Escort for 2.5k and the 3.0s for 2k I think, how much to buy now?, wonder if they are still on the road?.
You live and learn I suppose .

There is less than 20 remaining and only 8 of them presently are taxed. My dad had a silver one, fishnets and check upholstery I recall. T reg. He reckoned it was very fast but I suspect by today's standard not. He did Paris to Newcastle in about 9 hours with the hovercraft to cross the channel. What fun cars they were. Today's price? I doubt even a great one will fetch more than £5k.

20 what remaining?Had a Mk1 Facelift 3000GT. Red, Chrome Rostyles, lovely car. Lent it to my Dad and he wrote it off
Later on had a Mk3 3000S in Bronze. Wifey hated it and was pregnant at the time so after many arguements, I traded it on a New Fiat Uno that she wanted.

Less than 20 Capri 3.0S. Sorry!
Cripes
I had a beautiful 3.0S (RVX 707W) when I was younger. The previous owner (4 years) was an engineer at Ford research, Dunton and it was immaculate. I part exchanged it against a Lancia Delta HF Turbo in full Martini racing colours............wish I had kept the Capri to be honest, the Lancia was crap
