My new smokers smoking, help please!

Hi everyone, I've just got myself a 1999 E320 CDi to smoke for a few months and the thing is it's literally smoking!
When I park the car up after a short drive I've noticed what looks like exhaust smoke coming from the offside front wheel arch and what sounds like a kettle boiling, it does this for about 30 seconds after switching off.
It's not coolant related at least I don't think it is, was wondering if it was related to the emissions equipment. The car drives fine, the glow pug light stays on a while and it can be quite smokey from the exhaust in this period - first half mile or so, after that it drives well, very well in fact.
