I think I've sat in my seat about 3 times in the last 7 or 8 years when hassled by stewards. Football is meant to be enjoyed standing, it's not bloody opera. You can't project your voice properly sitting down for a start and when a goal is scored you're gonna be on your feet anyway.

It generally makes for a better atmosphere. Personally I get bloody freezing sitting down so when I watch Posh oocasionally standing it is easier to warm up and I tend to be noisier.

I can't stand sitting down at concerts or football.

Plus if you're over 6ft, it's really uncomfortable to sit for 90 minutes in a very cramped seat. Well it is at ER anyway, hence why I always try and get a "seat" at the back of the Kop where it's generally all standing and the stewards don't venture that far back.

We are lucky here in Ireland in that we can stand at GAA games. The bigger games attract crowds of over 80000, but the Hill 16 end of the ground is standing only.
My favourite Anfield memory is standing in the Kop for the 3-3 draw with Man Ure in the early 90s. Nigel Clough (2) and Razor Ruddock scored for Liverpool after being 0-3 down.
