Having just had a bit of a scare with one of the younger cats and a very floppy leg, (thought it might be broken, but fortunately only ligament damage and a dislocation, still the better part of £200 down!), I figure I'd better revisit insuring all the cats.

Any suggestions for a policy that would cover 5 cats, without bankrupting me monthly in the process?

We pay about 35 pcm for all 4 of ours I think. Watch the upper limit of claims as if they're big they can be properly huge, been there! I think we are on 6K per item.
Petplan seem to be well thought of but are expensive but if you have 5 you are quite likely to recoup your premiums and then some each year as one of them is almost bound to need something.
I think ours are split between Direct Line and Tescos maybe. DL paid out to the maximum on the policy for MRIs and surgery 2 years ago without quibble but of course that cat is now not covered for anything to do with that issue going forward. I think this is where petplan scores but just read the small print about pre-exisiting conditions carefully.
