In the middle of a Swiss winter i need some inspiration, until the passes open next year.

Does anyone have any reccomendations for road trip books - i just read "A little goes a long way" and "across the limpopo" and am looking for some others.

Let me know your favourites.

Long Way Round - Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman
Motorbikes rather than cars but a decent read. Iirc there's also a sequel.

America Unchained - Dave Gorman
Gorman attempts to traverse America avoiding large chains and only using local shops and filling stations. Nice idea, but execution isn't noteworthy. Easy to read and entertaining in places however it isn't particularly inspirational.

Spark Your Dream - Herman Zapp
A couple take a 1928 Graham Paige from Argentina to Alaska in an adventure that spans a number of years. Potentially epic however the style of writing is annoying and preachy and the translation from Spanish is sloppy in places. I really wanted to like this book, but by the end, I was glad to put it down.

On The Road - Jack Kerouac
Classic beat generation novel from the late '50s. Kerouac hitchhikes across America getting into various scrapes involving drink and drugs along with his mates William S Burroughs and Neal Cassidy. Worth a read imo.

Classic Motorsport Routes by Richard Meaden

Usually get it cheap in 'The Works' for about £5
