Currently some of the higher octane fuels available (BP, Esso) do not contain Ethanol, so I am led to believe, so hopefully this will continue though I wouldn't bank on it. The classic car movement is huge, it represents massive business to this country in terms of replacement parts manufacture, road and fuel tax and services etc, I cannot understand why a government would allow it to be killed off by stealth

The irony is this is just another Kings new clothes scenario; the ecological overhead in producing these fuels far outweighs the impact non ethanol fuels have on the environment, not to mention the amount of arable farming land lost to the production of this fuel, yet we pay more and more for less and less.

I belong to the Vintage Motorcycle Club and for months the club magazine has been full of reports of fuel lines collapsing or perishing, seals disintegrating and tank sealer failing. I would say if you are storing your P&J over the winter months keep an eye out for fuel leaks, especially if you have electrical equipment in the garage that will be cycling on and off for the duration (dehumidifiers, heaters, refrigeration etc).

Shell V Power contains no ethenol and so is non hydroscopic and as such will last for months in your tank where as E5 bio fuel will last about a month. You can run a S on E5 but dont leave it in your tank over winter, imho.

I note the comment re no bio in V Power above but also have just read elsewhere that V Power does have it in already so not sure which is correct - all smoke and mirrors here ...

It does. Ive put a link on the other one to the TR owners register, where one of the guys had a response from Shell saying that it does indeed contain Ethanol. Think I am going to start putting some Millers additive into it as I try to only run my Griff on V-Power.

Has anyone tried Millers esp additive? Although, is ethanol below 10% a problem anyway?
