As the thread title, as part of our Christmas meat order, we are due to receive an uncooked ham, and I'd like some recommendations as to how best to cook it!

Wife has decreed that covering an Organic Ham in Coca Cola (other carbonated beverages are available) is a non-starter.

Thanks

PS - If anyone knows where I can buy a Tunis Cake that would also be appreciated!

Was going to suggest this first off (full fat not diet of course). If not, Cherry Cola works as well...

Otherwise, some Cider base might be an option, or go for the old fashioned (water + bayleaf+ cloves etc) and get a lovely sticky honey / golden syrup based sauce for the roasting stage.....

mmmmm......Christmas Ham.......

Bears repeating.

I actually have a smile on my face just thinking about Sunday. smile.

For the OP, just bake it covered with foil. Remove foil when fully cooked, remove skin, score fat, stud with cloves then blast it at high temp until the fat goes gooey and sticky...

I need a moment now.

I'm going to try the ham hocks in jerk seasoning that Jamie did in his Christmas show last week. Looked awesome, and a significantly cheaper and, IMHO, tastier cut.

Aaaah! A fond childhood memory cloud9

Although I've not seen such a thing in years... frown

But, if I recall, it's only a Madeira cake covered in chocolate with marzipan fruits on top, so why not make your own?

Waitrose have some nice-looking marzipan fruits in the run-up to Christmas. (The difficult bit to make at home.)
