Not having a great week chez pigdog - one rat had to be euthanased on Sunday night after suffering a stroke, and another died in his sleep today after a battle with a lung infection.

And Cassie our oldest lab is having more tests tomorrow after three days in the vets - possible tumour, or something up with her pancreas and/or liver.

Stuck on a train and can't wait to get home to my girls. Please post some more chrimble pics on that thread to cheer me up!

Unfortunately it's lymphoma - she probably won't make Christmas apparently. To think that a fortnight ago she was retrieving birds for me.

It never rains, but it pours.

Really sorry to hear the bad news, so sad to lose the loved ones. ive had 2 cats die around christmas time before... puts a real damper on the festivities.. just try to think that the time they have lived with you has been fun, comfy , well treated and loved i'm sure they have appreciated every minute with their loving owner. if i know one thing about animals / pets they are not daft and do love you back....even cats that think they own you. youve given them good times and a loving home, just take comfort in that, especialy when you see the reports here sometimes of how cruel and evil some folk can be to our furry / feathered / scaley friends... again so sorry buddy its never easy, the only thing we can do is to minimise the suffering and take comfort in that. all my best and try have a good christmas. your pals of the furry kind would want it i'm sure !!!!!

Put her to sleep this evening. Am devastated, but sat here with my pup on my knee knowing it was for the best and that she didn't suffer.

God bless you Cassie - thanks for all the good times!
