Gutted a Deer jumped out in front if me tonight b road middle of countryside no lights and an oncoming car it jumped out infront of me from the verge I was at NSL mashed the brakes bur couldn't swerve into oncoming traffic so hit it...
Animal dead

Damage to the car well a wing is dented but not creased however the extent of the dent has closed the gap to the door so door cannot be opened more than a touch. No broken paintwork.
Side indicator smashed and one side of front bumper appears to be off it's clips no scratches or indentations on it. Headlamps fine ditto bonnet and rest of car.

So I need some help getting this fixed currently I'm thinking of
1. Dentmaster to see if the can do anything with it
2. Body shop
3. Main dealer body shop

Based in Reading.

Really gutted and want to get this repaired ASAP any advice welcomed.

Also should I be considering putting it through the Ins policy??? I'm reluctant to do this if it can be avoided purely on the basis I've had three claims now three years two non fault one flood damage. But premiums went up. I'm guessing this repair will not be too £ I'm hoping as that would be a right kick in the nuts for Xmas

Thanks in advance a distressed PHeader who's pride and joy is feeling a little war injured tonight

Stupid deer with no lights!

Sorry smile

I did the same few years ago. Nearly 2k damage so went through insurer. This route obviously has future issues with renewals etc.

And, vaguely more seriously, glad that you appear to be OK. Cars can be fixed, people not. But surprising you wrote off the deer with so little damage?!!

I think I hit his Jessie shoulders which swung it round to the wing so lucky that it wasn't any more out in the road as it would have been through the screen.

Been thinking about that bit a lot tonight it could have been my time and I've not yet sorted life ins for my wife and sprog if the worse did happen.

Luckily I'm totally fine and so is the car from in the dark what appears to be easyish to fix damage

It will hang well until Sunday.

Walk it through a warm room and it will be perfect. Lovely.

I hit one on a motorbike a decade ago. (No, I was on the bike, stupid!) It caused more than a bit of panel damage, but almost automatically everybody said "Oh dear/deer" when I explained what had happened.
