Canon SX40

Any opinions on the above camera?

I would love a DSLR but funds simply won't stretch for a body and a lens that'll suit my needs.

I am a Nikon man so looked at the P500, when I held it it felt small in my hands, I wasn't comfortable with it, I then tried the SX40 and it felt right.

I like taking pictures at airshows, birds in the garden, family and holidays.

I understand with the SX40 I will never get the quality a DSLR with a zoom lens will give, however I will never be able to afford the lenses that'll give me that quality......unless anyone out there has a miracle solution lol!

For the kind of money an SX40 will cost you I would go for a second hand DSLR. There's a ton of choice on eBay and if you are careful you will be ok (i've bought loads of things and never had an issue).

This chap has a £200 budget and that seems to be enough ...
