Sorry to start yet another thread starting with "winter tyres", but I thought this might be a useful link which might get buried in the other arguments

It's a statement from the ABI along with a table of insurers and their policies on whether you need to notify them that you have winters and whether they will charge you more for them or reduce your cover:

Useful list, but it would be good if more of the companies were more specific about changing the wheels, not just the tyres.
