Reasonably long post so bare with me. Very much car related though! smile

I love my cars, they've always been much more than a mode of transport.Before kids and the inevitable downturn in finances I had;

Mk2 Golf GTi 8v
MK2 MR2
Skyline GTS-t.
Celica GT4 ST205
Honda Accord Type R
MR2 Turbo.

driving

However for the last 6 years my wheels have a been a Yaris. Not a T-Sport, but a 1.0 GS 5 door. It was fun seeing how high I could get the MPG Figure. For a week. The last 311 have been mind numbingly boring. mad

However, finances are improving and a more suitable mode of transport is within reach. Nothing too expensive, but something fun around the 5kish mark. However, and here's the thing, I'm caught between something like a MK3 MR2 that I can use on the daily commute (50mile round trip) that will provide entertainment without breaking the bank. Or keep the Yaris and buy something more outrageous just for the the weekend. A Chimera maybe? I have a garage, that will need clearing out so parking for the 3rd vehicle will not be a problem.

Anyone else faced the same issue? What did you do? Any advice gratefully received! beer

Out of your list the MR2 Turbo would be my choice but then you have had that! How about a E36 M3?

Alfa GTV V6? More for the weekend perhaps, as ride is sporty (firm...) but it feels a very special car and a great engine.

Can't beat a V8 though, TVR would be great thumbup

Chimaera possibility sounds ace - think of all the smiles it'll put on your face.

Mr2 spyder, why use a snotter when you can have a sublime little roadster?

I used mine daily for 3 years & it was great.
