My wife had our first child Isaac in October, we only need one (practical 
) car between us because we work together so I seized the opportunity and bought her a baby wagon and chopped in my 325i for this little machine.
Haven't really used it a great deal yet mainly because of the weather, I did take it to a wintry and icy Evo Triangle a couple of weekends ago
It is in a different league to the 2 S2000s I previously owned in terms of performance, handling and fuel consumption
Did I mention the noise at all?
Anyway I'm not a great photographer but I cleaned it today so thought I'd share! Yes yes yes I know the garage is a mess but it does get used for its intended purpose of storing cars, power tools and beer and ignore the state of the fence I'm still doing my house up

Don't know, what is the difference 150kg???I did a fair few miles in both of my S2000s including on track, they really never did inspire me that much (although the later car was much better), you could throw them into corners and the change of direction is pretty good, but on anything other than a really dry surface they never really felt totally planted to me.
I believe a good geo can sort them drastically but I wouldn't know.
Like I said I have only done a few hundred miles in less than ideal conditions, these are my first impressions. I may have got it horribly wrong but I suppose time will tell.

I do agree with what you about feeling planted though, mines a '55 year and it feels great in the dry, but anything other and I tend to pussyfoot around her a bit.
I think a slightly stiffer S2000 would be magic on a dry track, although you still wouldnt feel that much through the front.
I know the facts and figures show a fair difference in performance between the two cars, but from your point of view how much faster does it really feel back to back? from say 60mph up it must pull much harder?

The Z4 is quicker in terms of outright performance in every way, I'm particularly impressed with the torque, it pulls hard from 2000rpm yet still revs to 8000rpm. Off the line I always found it difficult to get away quickly in the S2000, the Z4 is like a scalded cat in comparison.
On the move IMO it is even more apparent but then again that is to be expected with more than an extra 1200 cc, 100 bhp and 100 lbft torque.
I don't really buy into massive power / forced induction so this is plenty for me.
Don't get me wrong it isn't perfect but that was also what I liked about the S2000, it had character. It was a very close call between this and a Boxster S, I'm glad I bought the Z4.
If only it had the S2000 gear change

Problem is when I bought it there were slim pickings on the BMW AUC network and I did want the warranty and the best possible price for my 3 Series which I part exchanged back into the BMW AUC network.What's the spec like?

The only extra things I would maybe have liked was heated seats and free insurance
