Front lower ball joint question

Noticed the gaiter had split on my front lower ball joint. So searched on here and ordered the one that comes up as reccomended. But i also read about a bit needing machining off but it doesnt say which bit needs machining. May be obvious when i get the old one out and compare but just would like a heads up.

The bottom lip does by about 1-2 mm. Sometimes it will just fit in. One of mine needed machining and the other didn't. Hope this helps

Well this is turning into an interesting job. The circlip was well and truely in and took a few hours with a dremel to get it out. The joint itself then made our 8t press explode. So took it this morning to Arnotts in doncaster which is this place http://www.arnetts.co.uk/
The guy went off with it and came back after just the centre of the joint had been pushed out. He said there is no need at all for the joint to be in that tight, i agreed haha. So ive left it with them so the guy they have trained on their special 35t press can have a go. Got to phone them at 3 to see how they've gotten on. Hopefully ive explained what to do with the new joint clearly enough.
Also need a new circlip now. Can anyone confirm they're a 52mm internal one?

Just had a call to say its done and took 30 of the 35t available to get it out!
