I posted these pics in the S forum last week by mistake.

Looking sweet!

So what's with the bonnet on the S2? Is it running some other engine (with some sort of induction piping to an airbox or something)?

Exactly my comments when I first saw that car for sale on Ebay a few months ago!

My S2 is a few numbers earlier on the reg plate than that one. Some of the experts will be along in a moment to tell you that TVR offered two different style of bonnet at the time and that one was the standard one. Apparently you could order the cigar bonnet ( which it seems most have) as an option.

I must say that the one in the pics is very original...

The S2 has an original sausage Bonnet. Most vixens came with the Tuscan style bonnet because the sausage bonnet looked so ugly. The tuscan type bonnet was an optional extra though later standardised.

Apparently the design of the sausage bonnet was a piss take at US emissions legislators who insisted that some smog equipment was fitted to the federal spec Vixens, needing the shape to clear the innards.

The white car looks so pretty. What's the chassis like as the ad doesn't mention it? Also is it pure white? Can't tell as the OP photo's look a very nice pearl effect old english white. But the advert photo's look more pure white.

Come the time for a respray I could be tempted to change mine to OE white, maybe with a BRG stripe..... scratchchin hmmmm!

More pics from the night were here @ http://s847.photobucket.com/albums/ab31/alex_gray2...

The full ad for that white vixen was here @ http://www.hiltonandmoss.com/v/167/tvr-vixen/1971/...

It was a very nice looking car I must admit. If I hadn't just bought myself a new Evora and planning on getting another little toy, I might have been tempted myself.
