Christmas!

Goose is in the spare room, gently coming to room temperature. Sausage-meat, chipolatas and bacon are in from the local pork butcher. Pudding has been maturing for quite some time now, thanks to Mrs Rupert, as has the cake. Larder is full of totally unwholesome snacky things (yes, even including Twiglets). Got the wine, just need to stock up on decent beer, and I think we're about there! Let me be the first (or whatever) to wish you a Merry Christmas!

I'm going to a hotel. I'm assuming that as the weather has been mild, they have everything I will require (well, almost everything, I have a couple of phone numbers for the other things...)

Another night shift worker here .This year my gran is doing dinner and I will be doing a 3 bird roast on boxing day for myself the wife and my son.
