Been looking at a motor thats been off the road for 10 years +, the seller has the original logbook but has omitted to inform DVLA of his current address, so he's not had the new type logbook, nor been invited to SORN it. What would happen if we informed the doyens at Swansea that the vehicle still exists? and that we want to transfer ownership put it back on the road confused

They would send you a new V5C with your details on it. Current owner was under no obligation to tell them anything about it.

Not a problem if the vehicle was last taxed before 31st Jan. 1998, or you are the new keeper.
