Can someone tell me if this is the same on there cayman, where the tailgate stop rubbers touch the body is there a piece of protective clear plastic (similar to the anti stone chip stuff on the wheel arches) stuck to the body to stop it rubbing the paint off?

I only noticed it on mine yesterday when cleaning it and it looks like the paint has been rubbed away by the rubber so a piece of plastic has been added as an after thought.

My Cayman (not S) has two pieces of industrial grade sellotape where the rubbers touch the bodywork. Has had since day 1.

Cheers mate, that sounds like the stuff, just described better than me lol, does it look like the paint has rubbed off underneath it at all?

The paint is intact so far - otherwise it would be back to the OPC for a respray as the car is only 5 months old!
