Does anyone know if there are companies in the Scotland (or even UK) that fit clear engine covers for Cayman S and carry out engine detailing etc? Looking on other forums and saw photo's of this mod and thought it was very smart but all were done in America.

Has anyone seen this done and would recomend it or discourage it?

Not sure it would be worth it. Something originally designed to be not seen, might not be great to look at. No ferrari/ Audi R8 style engine bay under there!

I saw a pic of a clear engine cover on a Cayman about 6 months ago. I thought the workmanship was good but the engine looked a bit rubbish underneath. Personally I would not bother Porsche tarted up the visible engine area.

Well the first picture does nothing for me but I have to admit the second one looks a lot better and could be tempted.

wouldnt that be like having a "perspex gut-flap" installed by your local indy-surgeon??

All the bits that you know work well - but if seen - would make you want to throw up!!

looks great imo, needs a GT3 throttle boddy in there though
once painted sure sets off the Cayman rear.

If you make some tasteful mods to the appearance of the engine it would look pretty good IMO. Concerns would be the potential for extra cabin noise and heat.

I think someone was selling one of the engine covers in the last Porsche Club GB magazine classifieds. Not got the issue to hand ATM to check though.
