Not sure if this should be in Music or here or TV etc but...

What's happened to the original lead singer from Military Wives? Used to be a brunette with glasses and very tattooed, but for the last week has been a short haired blonde.

Has she had a makeover or have the tattoes sunk her??

Don't know, but on Graham Norton last night the few blondes were all in the front row.

Looks like Simon Cowell has had some input!

Holiday booked before all the publicity (bearing in mind her husband will be on leave).

I read her mother was knocked down by a car and had brain injuries some weeks before her husband was due home.

IIRC there are actually over 100 women in the choir.

Perhaps they take it in turns to be on TV.

Apparently she has been the victim of Internet hate mail due to her tattoos. I think this is so sad, she's lovely and a talented and brave woman. I wish people had more respect for her.

Hate mail? Some remarks were made on Twitter (and "an internet forum"), which the Daily Mail has twisted out of all proportion.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-20786...

It gets as nasty as "Skank", "garish", and "balk" (!), which either means a)the Daily Mail really weren't looking very hard, or b)the internet doesn't actually care.

I wonder if any of those making comments would have the guts to say it to her face with her husband standing next to her.

Just because you're in the armed forces it doesn't mean you're automatically a super hard dude.

I'm ex-services and you'd of never guessed I was in unless I told you, I'm just an unassuming chap (ordinary even lol). Sure I can probably do things others can't do but I'd certainly not consider myself hard or anything similar.

Anyway I personally don't like the crazy tattoos but it is wrong that folks have gone out of their way to be nasty to her but then what else could she of expected, this is the internet where folk get to hide behind their anonymity and spew hate. Youtube never fails to amaze me for this, seemingly innocuous videos have obscene comments on them.

Quite. It's just that because she was not famous and probably saying things about people who are not famous, nobody was bothered. I really can't be bothered to look, but I imagine we've said some hurtful things about famous people on PH in the past. wink

Absolutely... The abuse certain people on PH gets is unreal, but apparently that is OK.

I would defend the right of anyone to do whatever they want with their own body. If this woman - or anyone else - wants to cover themselves in tatoos that is totally up to them. However, I would also defend the right of other to have an opinion. Personally, I think these tatoos look hideous. But that doesn't mean I hate her. She is clearly a fine singer and I'm sure she is a very nice person but she shouldn't be surprised that people make judgements about her appearance - it happens to everyone in every walk of life, all the time.

PH never fails to make me laugh with the Pavlovian responses.

She's a brave person.... 'Brave? Ha! That's not brave'
Hero..... 'Hero? They're just doing their job'.
Hard.... 'That's not hard.'
Singer.... 'That's not singing'

etc etc

Note the question mark. Note I never said she wasn't brave, just asking what it is that she is being brave about.
