I've bought a few new releases this year but none have really got me off of GT5 for any amount of time.

So I'm going to say 'my' best game of 2011 has been GT5 .

Skyrim for me, closely followed by Portal 2, it's been a good year for games!

• Mass Effect - Hoovered up lots of time
• Mass Effect 2 - Ditto
• Deus Ex:Human Revolution - sneaky sneaky fun
• Fallout 3 and Fallout:New Vegas - See "Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2", with added time-hoovering due to the moddability
• Serious Sam:BFE - flawless, deeper-than-it-looks shooter
• Forza 3 and 4 - driving real-world cars but still lets you have fun due to sublime difficulty toggles

Big Fail:

• Duke Nukem Forever - there's more fun in the first five minutes of SS:BFE than there is in all of this game.

Didn't play:

• BF3, MW3 - reason being that I prefer single-player games these days, and anyway, they're a bit boring. Shooters are much more fun when you have ridiculous massive guns.

Nearly bought but didn't (but still might):

• Bulletstorm - iMac isn't up to playing it too well, although I might reinstall the demo and see if there's some twiddling I can do to get the framerate acceptable
• Space Marine - ditto

Indie Game Of The Year:

• Atom Zombie Smasher - a ridiculous amount of fun for the money

Yes but you can go for a track day to have a race etc but you can't go around shooting people tho, well unless you're from London
