Just had a corsa glued to my bumper as i over took somebody so pulled back in at around 60 mph and said corsa took off at speeds ive never seen before!

Twas an older model and looked standard apart from the tin can hanging off the back but no idea what was under the bonnet!

It'll be the 1.7 non turbo diesel Isuzu engine transplant.

There was a knackered looking one on steels at York dragway last year that, once moving, quickly gave an R34 a hiding !

I've heard that's quite a potent lump, 0-60 in under 20 seconds.

It was a 335d with a Corsa bodykit. Everyone knows front wheel drive can't handle more than 42bhp.

hehe

I'm always wary of Nova / Corsa and Astra vans wanting to play, there are a few quick ones round here. I also had one of those Toyota Starlet turbo things wanting to play a few months ago, I pulled quite a gap through an island but once we got onto the dual carriage way he soon closed the gap, didn't think these were that quick !

The starlets can be very fast, 180bhp is fairly easily achieved. My friend has a 2.0 c20xe converted corsa b and it absolutely destroyed my starlet one day, it's a pretty scary thing to be in.

Probably a C20LET'd Corsa well under 1000kg and standard C20LET lump is nie on 200bhp,,,,,, 250-280bhp is childs play to achieve.

I used to do that to people all the time in my Uno Turbo Powered Panda. hehe

I also helped build a standard looking pensioner brown four door Nova saloon with a Cavalier V6 under the bonnet. That seriously shifted. The only thing that gave it away were the banded steels and young person behind the wheel. driving

Definately. Obviously the amount of torque requires significant reinforcement to the chassis as well.

Had a similar experience with a 2003 Focus TDCi a few weeks ago, pulled out to overtake with him in front of me at bottom of big hill floored it in 3rd at about 45 (Z4 3.0i) and hadn't gained an inch by the time I hit the redline, I'd finally started pulling him in as I was running out of revs in 4th when I realised how fast I was going and pulled in.

Not a hint of smoke from it so I was wondering if it had a RS engine in it or something....It looked pretty standard.
