I also had a Corsa 1.2 (awful, awful car ) when I was younger and also just recently sold my Fiesta ST. I got round the heavy fuel consumption by giving it a good pasting pretty much everywhere I went

Lusting after a diesel Scirocco at your age? Good grief, the only Scirocco you should be lusting after is a mint GTX or a Scala at a push!

Funnily enough I was just talking to a 20 year old lad yesterday who wanted a diesel Scirocco, but then admitted he might get an Audi of some description because the "Audi looks better". I finished my pint and left the pub after that one!

Nice ST though, not bad little cars but they are horrendous on fuel. A mate owns one and gets 22mpg, which is frankly appalling for 154bhp!

I regularly get about 21 mpg out of my MR2 Turbo! Mind you, that's got plenty of grunt. The best thing is though, once you've had a car that does that sort of mpg you wouldn't think about twice about getting another one, as you soon realise filling it up isn't as frightening as it sounds at first.

Yes but the MR2 has about another 90bhp on top of a Fiesta ST, so it doesn't seem quite so bad!

I know I know, going from an ST to a diesel is pretty poor. I wanted a scirocco but I went head over heart due to the mileage I am doing. I will be back to petrol and low MPG's in due course though!

The only way that daihatsu would get anywhere near 80mph would be out the back of a plane.

Well it happened! It took off like a rocket weighing nothing! 80mph was pretty much top whack

Personally I think you should be very happy with your purchase!

I've just recently changed to a diesel, and am absolutely loving it. Each trip now doesn't cost a fortune, but I still get to drive a really nice car. No downside for me.

The Scirocco is fantastic looking AND it's not costing the earth to run (besides depreciation of course).

Cheers, the camper is a temporary luxury as i have to buy a house at some point. haha i tell ya as soon as i scrapped the domino i instantly regretted it, never seen another since!
