Just been looking at Autotrader and came across this:

http://www.autobahn.co.uk/ViewCar.aspx?CarID=d6a97...

From what I can see it should retail around £90k and it's on for £25k more...

Really?nono

What do you guys think?

Purely speculative. I suppose they might find a buyer though.

Said person would be either cash rich, foolish or both.

Wow. Sh@t loads of money IMHO.

I think they import direct from Germany via Cyprus.
C98 or somthing like that.

You would have to be mad to spend that much over on a 991.

Anyone paying a premium for a 991 should be 'sectioned'. Don't know about discounts, but apparently, sales are slow at the moment.

I popped into an OPC to look at the 991. My reaction was lukewarm. Asked the salesman about delivery and he said they can get some cars for Jan, or 'built to spec' for March delivery.

However, they were saying there is a lot of interest and were expecting demand will pick up in the new year.

What else would you expect him to say?

It isn't a great recommendation from a "Porsche specialist" that they are trying to flog a car for over the odds if they don't even know the colour. It is Carrara white, as in the marble, not Carrera, as in the car, FFS!

TBH Autobahn cars always seem price heavy, offer very low part ex prices as well from my experience.

But sure someone will buy it, but would imagine they will have a garage full of hyper cars and just want to 'run round' in the latest Porsche for a couple months so won't give a rats about 25k plus any depreciation.

My prediction is it will sell at a profit or it won't. If it sells high two players will be happy if not only one will.

It's profiting from going out on a limb and being creative. Good luck to the seller, people like him drive the entire economy out of the mire we're in.

Let's stop being so damned British about criticising profit and success. Remember business driving the economy upwards directly affects our resale values and cost of ownership.

That would be the action of a sensible person, however there is something of a wait if you ordered one tomorrow and there are always people out there who have no issue with paying over the odds to get something new and shiny immediately. To many of those people it isn't a lot of money either... If an oligarch's daughter wants one in January then the advertiser is probably going to get that price... rolleyes

I think that if you waljed into an OPC right now and offered to pay even £5K over list they'd find you a car pretty damn quickly.

Being creative? How?

What drives the economy is being creative, adding value and building business, not simply trying to make a one off profit from the anyone stupid enough to fall for the scam.

At a guess it's one of their demo's and it won't be available until it can be replaced.
