New front splitter?
Discussion
Thanks guys.
Did it do much damage Snuffy? Mine's off for the moment can can see what you mean - you gain an inch or so. Would rather scrape the splitter than the clam though if that makes sense!
I think you tried to send an email Tux but it was blank. Can you send again please bud with the cost of a carbon one?
Cheers

It sort of cracked in 2 places, with the middle half breaking away so it left the end bits still on. I think it was already damaged and so weakened so that when you are going at top whack there is so much pressure on it that it gave way. But, no damage to the car - just a very large bang !Did it do much damage Snuffy? Mine's off for the moment can can see what you mean - you gain an inch or so. I thought the same as you, i.e. better to scrap the splitter than the clam. But it does not catch on anything now, so I left it off. And the M400 does not come with one, which makes you wonder if it does very much anyway, especially at normal road speeds ( as opposed to track driving ).

Hi all,
Am looking for a front splitter too, and tux's one looks really good. I have a M400 which did not come with a splitter, how would i fix one on? How much are yours tux?
Dan
whilst your M400 didn't come with the splitter (I think it was only an option on M400 and not std?), the front clam is the same and you just need to attach it to the bottom the same as you would a 3r... some drilling for holes in you clam is the most that should be required.Am looking for a front splitter too, and tux's one looks really good. Hi guys,
Thanks for the responses.
Tux,
How much is the carbon splitter (including delivery)? Does the carbon splitter include pre-drilled holes for the bolts? Do you also still do the wing end plates? If so, how much would it be for both?
All,
Im not much of a DIY guy, so apologies for the silly question, but what drill bit should be used to drill the holes in the clam? How many would i need? Does anybody have any pictures?
Thanks
Dan

All I've ever needed to do is take a few mills off the splitter lip with an angle grinder or sanding block and it clears all the pesky speed humps around my area. The standard splitter has too deep a lip so this is all that's needed.
I think you are right AMG but wonder if the depth gives it rigidity. When my first one failed the centre bolts (that go into the clam frame) had fallen out and at speed the centre section simply folded down so that what was the front was now scraping along the road. It does show what force there is on it. I'm thinking of trimming mine down and then adding some reinforcement underneath.Gassing Station | Noble | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
