1000 miles in Tam and has been fautless

Well,
we set off to Cornwall (Lizard Point) on Monday and have had a great time in the Tam. We clocked just over 1000 miles, as we went for great drives down there (even Lands End!)
The car started first time, every time, behaved herself in the pouring rain on the A30 and M5 this morning, and has now bought us back home, (a LOT dirtier than when she left!! lol)
The only hiccup was hitting a bloody large stone on one the roads, which the front spoiler took most of the impact, it sounded like the whole car was wrecked when it happened, but we stopped, and all it did was take a small piece from the underside of the spoiler!! Phew!!! lol
So there you go, sorry to disappoint any sceptics but the Tam has been great, passing many a 'reliable' car by the roadside on our journeys!

I may have to invest in SatNav though, as my navigation is awful!!!
All I did was top the Tam up with a small amount of oil, and that was today!

Is this what modern TVRs are coming too?
Took my 15 year old 400SE to Zolder and back for a day trip and thought nothing of it. Maybe i should have organised a celebration street party on its return.

Completely agree - 1000 miles is nothing for a car - even an old one. Don't get me wrong, it is nice to hear you had a good trip, but to celebrate the 'reliability' of a car based on a 1000 miles would appear a bit premature to say the least.
I’d be very interested in your reliability report after, say 20,000 miles – which to me is not asking a lot of any make or model of car sold today.

Perhaps I should explain then,
before I went away, I still had many pre conceptions about reliability, based on what I have read on these forums since I joined, so much so that I did take along every conceivable jump start/charger etc kit available along with us. Every little hiccup like a slight apparent misfire I jumped upon before going away, thinking the worse, taking it for a diagnostic test etc, but, all was fine, and has been since I had the car. I have never taken a TVR so far (the Chim only went as far as Devon)
I did have a brand new MGTF160 before the chim, which had to have all the valves re-seated in the first 1000 miles, and my wife had a 'sports hatch', which the ABS brakes failed completely within 500 miles from new, (not to mention inner door trim literally falling off onto the ground when she opened the door!)
I guess I posted the thread as a kind of relief, and has cured my fears of a newer TVR ownership worries. I know it's only 1000 miles, but it was 1000 of the best miles I have ever driven, and am now cured of any worries I had, (which were bordering on paranoa!)
There were some other guests at the place we stayed, we had to 'endure' breakfast with them, the guy said that he knew someone who's wife bought him a TVR Griffith, and had so many probs with it that he got rid, but couldn't give any details, (as usual!), and then waxed lyrical about how 'sporty' his Nissan primara estate(I think that's what it was is) was!!!!, and telling me how impractical my car was!, well,, it was for the place we stayed, as the front spoiler acted as a shovel and scooped up the sand every time I have to drive through the gateway into the 'car park' (actually a field!)
Oh yes, and a little 7 year old boy shouted to his parents 'Look, a TVR!!!!' whilst we were in a restaraunt with the car parked outside,, that was great

Just a little bit of ahem, harsh braking, followed by a rollover into a field. Car was written off, I should have been, but I escaped without a scratch (literally!)
Dry, straight road too, and one I drive several times a day - just one of those freaky things. Shows how good the rollbar in the windscreen is though
