Just got in my Elise for a christmas hoon, start her up, start reversing off my gravel drive, front wheels are just being dragged along. Recently when I have started it, the brakes are slightly stuck so it will make a 'click' as soon as i start reversing as they free themselves up then after that they are fine until I next drive it

This time they are really wedged on. Whats the best way to get it moving again? Car is a 2007 Elise 111r

frown Just want to take it out for a spin.

Take calipers off retaining brackets, remove the pads and squish the pistons fully back into the calipers with a G clamp . . . . there will however be a chance that once back on, they will still stick partially on.

Just keep moving it back and fourth till they release. How long has it been stood for?

When were the brakes last serviced?

Sounds odd for them to be stuck on like you say after such a short time, the pads will be stuck in the slider and water will be trapped between the pad surface and disc.

Once they have released a good drive should sort them out, first few applications on the brakes may sound noisy tho.

Silly question. How cold was it this morning when you tried to leave? I've had pads frozen to discs before.

08 Elise S I had on loan for a while had sticky brakes. Not stuck solid but could be felt as a little resistance when coming to a gentle stop. I never did anything with it as car wasn't mine.

Best bet is to rock car back and forth to release I'd guess.
