Anyone know about Port?
Discussion
This evening I have had the pleasure of sharing a bottle of Port of unknown vintage. For a bit of backstory, the bottle was found when emptying the house of my wifes grandfather. As its the first xmas her dads not been working for years he suggested we decant it and drink it. Bloody lovely it was too once decanted and a real honour as it was likely worth something and i'm sure they could do with some extra cash. Definately pre-1971 as the price is still written on it in pencil as 14/
No date on the label and a couple of hours of searching on t'web has only come up with some russian collecter who has the exact same bottle in miniature. Found the vineyard etc but my Portuguese is non existent. Tried to persuade him to check it out first but as he said, they were made to be drunk and by golly we are glad we did!

Knowing PH someone may have some idea of a year, so I thought I'd put it up here while we do a bit more digging once we sober up tomorrow.

Just had a bit of a google which leads me to believe you would have to pay about £90.00 for a bottle assuming it was 1970 vintage or more like £120.00 for 1967
Ta - that's the sort of range we figured after a quick google too. In some respects the value is irrelevant, especially as we drank it! (but would be nice to know) - we have no idea where my wife's grandfather got it from or when as he wasn't a Port drinker.
