So here we are again with another year nearly over and I just remembered that I started a new years resolution thread last year http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... so I thought I would see:

a) if anyone from the original thread had managed to meet their resolutions

b) what are everyone's for this year

For me the E class is now on the road but still having problems on long runs, the Shogun now has a new gearbox, but the 7 series has only done about 15 miles since last year.

So next years will be to:

Make some progress on the BMW and now that I have passed my test find something small and fun to drive when I'm in not in my diesel Corsa.

Over to the masses

Good thread

My motoring new years resolution?

- To stop just endlessly perusing the PH classifieds weighing up this car versus that, and actually decide on a car i'd like, and buy it!

To buy my first car, really really want a Panda 100HP. I want an old saloon/barge of some sort but that will have to wait a while until premiums are lower.

To spend the money I would have spent on a girlfriend on making my car as fun as possible - and hopefully get in a MINI mag by the Summer smile

There's only one type of man that drives a MINI and doesn't have a girlfriend. A petrolhead wink

Mine:

Part 1: don't waste any more petrol on comuting in a boring, hateful car and buy a year of public transport [done]:

Part 2: get a fun car to be enjoyed when ever possible. Currently thinking of this:

Part 3: this is where it gets difficult. Come up with the right man maths to fit a nice shed in the picture wink:

Slow Down. Noticed my speed creeping up alot, especially on the motorways. Tend to sit at just under the magic banning mark instead of the limit..

Also.. Walk/Use public transport more in the city, instead of paying £7 quid a day to park. 140 quid a month!!

Drop the 650, its very capable and very fast but so so boring. Its effortless but I want more drama.

Probably refresh the bottom end on the old racer's engine.

Finish this MGB Sebring by the end of january.

And if I haven't spent my money on girls, I might look at a chimaera.

It is possible, if you have 2 lessons a week, or you might just adapt to driving pretty quickly. You done your theory yet? if not book it now, you can wait about 3 weeks for the theory test, i had to wait 7 weeks for my test (1st time) but i managed to get a cancellation straight away so re took my test 2 weeks later. I spent about 6 months having lessons.
