Damn. Picked up a bullseye in the windscreen today and would like to get it fixed asap before it cracks. Can anyone recommend someone who can come out at short notice and repair it please? Essex/Suffolk borders. Ta!

Autoglass are the best bet.

Be careful though, I had a chip repaired and it later failed its MOT for being in the line of vision. I queried it and they will repair a chip that may fail and MOT.

I ended up with more hassle by having to get another screen.

Glassman seems like a good bloke.

Never needed him myself but from his posts here he'd be my first port of call.

Autoglass were at my parents' this morning fixing a chip in my father's Golf's windscreen. The bloke said they were even open Xmas day for "emergencies".

Had Autoglass ready to come round this evening, hurrah. Then they said they don't work with my insurer banghead

So I'll have to wait for a call from National Windscreens on Wednesday instead 'cos they don't do out of hours work. Damn, and I need to use the car on Thursday.

Try the AA. They now do windscreens and chip repairs etc. Also do out of hours jobs as quite a few of the patrol vehicles carry glass medic kits.

Thanks - we seem to have sorted it. I had an unexpected call from NW at 8.50am today and they'll be round tomorrow. Which is fine - but one hand doesn't seem to know what the other is doing!

So I wonder why Elephant doesn't work with Autoglass?

because Autoglass will not work for rates that are lower than a snake's belly

Umm... no - but TBF, I haven't checked my PH email (which is on my work puter).

Stumbled onto this thread today.

Sorry chap.
