Chrysler Crossfire ?
Discussion
Anyone had one ? neighbour has some Christmas visitors over and there is one parked, can appreciate the looks are Marmite but I like it, looks so different.
Appreciate they arent meant to be the greatest drive and the interior looks like a Matsui Midi System circa 1990, went in one my uncle had when his Jeep went in for service, seemed fairly quick. I know they are basically an SLK but really, being Mercedes of that Era is hardly a recommendation is it.
Seems to be loads for sale, from four grand upwards, do they actually sell, a completed listings search would say not, cant imagine a slightly obscure 2 seat 3.2 V6 coupe with challenging looks is top of most peoples lists these days. Would love to see part ex values on them when people go to trade it against that diesel Polo or what they actually sell like, bet if you buy one for 5 grand and have to move it on would have to take a significant loss. Lots seem to have tiny mileages, think older people bought them and used them as second cars.
Going to hold out for an MX5 but was interested to see the views on these as I have a bit of a soft spot for them.

Take a look in the yank cars section. Bobbles has one and rates it. Obviously it's not a 330D so not main stream enough for many on here.........

There's an SRT6 around Notts and it sounds wonderful, looks pretty good too. I think the interior is a bit plastic but the same era SLK feels no better inside.
Fisherprice use less grey plastic than these do.
I actually like the looks and SWMBO was considering one so we went to look at one in detail - didn't even get as far as actually driving it as neither of us could live with the cabin.
Quirky cars but better out there. So much so you would only buy one of these so that you could be different and value that above all else when choosing a car IMO

Although not the last word in driving dynamics they are good for cruising around. Most come with all the optional extras that the equivalent slk could have. They drive exactly the same as an slk320.The dash and centre console are a similar but a bit more plasticky.Id argue the leather on the seats is nicer quality than the Mercs.

i quite like them but the srt but v rare.
Never realised they even did an SRT version. Same engine as the C32 AMG Kompressor. In base form in the Crossfire it pushes 330hp/310lbft. With a mild tune they're good for 420+hp/415+lbft.Could make for an interesting sleeper. I mean who would ever expect a Crossfire to be properly quick?
