Looks like the dreaded Honey Fungus to me and I should know, it having killed enough trees in our garden over the last 20 years.

Ah so not good then. I shall not tell little un the name as it actually sounds quite edible.

try to google edible mushrooms, then try the poisonous ones so you could easily pin point if that shroom is a no-no.

if its poisonous, might get diarrhea and vomiting, but that's it. try to eat small dosages, ok? lol.

Honey fungus is fine to eat when young and fresh - gets pulpy as it ages.
