6 litre v8

Anyone seen the bmw e30 in July's "track and race car". Owner claims to have a six litre twin turbo v8 based on a tvr block with lots of trick bits. Out put is 548bhp/580lb torque at 8psi and a claimed 680bhp at 23psi. And its mated to a dodge viper gearbox.
God help us all and our overdrafts!!.

Hmm could be wrong but I thought that 'Wildcat' were developing a 6 litre unit.

from what I understand (and I stand to be corrected -V8R?) you can't do that to a Rover block. The maximum bore and stroke (without pistons with shorter skirts than Kylie) is 5.4 litres. Short skirts = bottie (no, no, piston) slap - worn bores and regular rebuilds.

Wildcat uses a different block as I understand it, so the the capacity restrictions of the RV8 don't necessarily apply. But I wonder if the original article is referring to an AJP block?

Reading the article again, having removed much drool, decided it was time to find out how they did it. Rang the engine builder and they told me, (along with many others apparently)the bloody magazine have misprinted the capacity, it is only a 5 litre, d'oh

Haing been thoroughly pi55ed off at the error in the capacity of this engine, I went trawling the net for some big engines, try looking up steve schmidt racing, 760ci, 12.5 litres, 1560hp and yours for just $52k....bargin..I think!!
