Rallycross, forgot all about it !

Was just trawling Youtube and happened across this video,

Had forgotten all about Rallycross, remember it from Grandstand/World of Sport on Saturday afternoon as a kid, remember people racing 4wd Beetles and all manner of wacky races kind of looking stuff, big power, mud, tarmac, close racing and where all the Group B rally cars went when they were too fast for the forests, to be honest, judging by some of the spectacular crashes they are too fast for this as well. Seeing this as a kid was fantastic and the one most likely to inspire me to crack open the toy car box and re-enact it in the garden.

Going to spend some more of today watching the videos and learning more about it and I will go to a meeting in 2012, really not sure why as a sport it isn't more popular relative to the relative tedium that is F1 most of the time.
