So were al of the debates on this forum about buying winter tyres, or a 4x4 for winter in vain ? I have a Range Rover LSE sitting outside, used it twice since taxing it at the beginning of Dec, but considering re-taxing the Suzuki Cappuccino sooner than expected, so I can go out with the roof down.

So, do we think we will see any bad weather, or is the next stop spring ?

Those cars and tyres can still be used in Spring, Summer and Autumn as well you know!!

Although to be fair, I've had a ponder on the suitability of my Winters after sitting on the M6 on Boxing Day at 16 degrees running the car quite quickly wondering whether the tyres were getting a bit over worn at the speed/temperature I was using them at. I think they're OK though, no noticeable problems on inspection.

ETA - I've run them through snow on the Snake Pass and they were invaluable. I think there could be some snow to come in Jan/Feb, would have thought it won't be as bad as last year though else we'd have already seen something

Jan/Feb always seem to be the cold months these days. It'll happen!

One of the worst winters on record 46/47, actually started snowing 21st Jan 47 and lasted till mid-late March. So plenty of time yet.

A little early to be giving up on the idea of snow just yet awhile. I wish I could find my photos of snow covered tulips in the garden from the other year. Last year was exceptional for heavy snow in the south east before Christmas - it's not unusual to be getting the coldest weather in February.

Winter's barely started. At a guess, I'd say it's probably five or ten times as likely to snow after Jan 1st than before.
