Everything can be fixed with a hammer....

In all seriousness I would have thought you take off the plastic centre consoles, top part you have to take the vents out. Then it should be mounted in a cage with two screws on each side. Undo those and it should slide out?

Bear in mind I've never done it but looking at my stereo slot thats what logic suggests....

Edit: Ah just noticed you have a MK2, could be different as mine is a Mk1

I took mine out a few months ago. I made din removal tools from a metal coat hanger like this: http://www.i-hacked.com/content/view/213/45/

Then pop them in the holes and push towards the centre of cd player.

Edit: I mean push outwards so that the part of the removal tool inserted is pushed towards centre.

Guide here, I used it to remove my stereo last year

http://www.fitaudio.com/?View=entry&EntryID=14...

Halfords sell the tools needed if you don't want to make them yourself.

If it's not coming out, make sure you're applying equal pressure to both sides - if you pull on one side more than the other it tends to catch, I found pushing it back in then trying again was the best option.

Looks good, that looks like a MK2, would they fit in a MK1?

I wouldve thought so, might have to get rid of the clock/cubby hole thing under your single din cd player..
