HD Hero LCD Bacpac - Faulty

Anyone else suffered a faulty LCD BAcpac for the HD Hero before?

Worked on Chsitmas Day, no longer worked on Boxing Day. No response from it unless I hold the button down to put it in Play mode at which point you get a backlit black screen.

A quick Google suggests this isn't uncommon. In two minds whether I should get it replaced or a refund if this is likely to happen again.

I'd suggest replace. Although I havent had any issues with my GoPro, a few friends have with theirs. All have contacted GoPro with their issues and got very good customer service.

Never had a fault with mine. I'm guessing you've tried putting the newest firmware on it?

Never had a problem with mine or the other 2 we use on our cars.

Do you get a clicking sound when trying to turn it on? If you do it's because it's old firmware. Although it working one day and not the next is a bit strange.

I would definitley try and reinstall the latest firmware.

Format the card using the in camera option. Then do the firmware upgrade

There's a 13 page thread about it on the gopro user forum, it's a common problem that is usually fixed when the latest firmware is properly installed
