Video cruising in the turbo Zed
Discussion
It always amazes me how eager people are to post videos of themselves, incriminating themselves on public roads, up on YouTube.
I love watching videos of performance cars being driven & enjoyed.. but not really on public roads, and not when people just don't have the balls to admit they're breaking the law and have to try and hide behind technicalities and loopholes.

Im not even speeding in the video (no speedo shots etc) and the car is quite a handful when it comes on boost with cold tires/tarmac! May be the was diesel on the floor?
Really? "3,000 revs in 3rd.." you cheerily tell us then you proceed to nail it up to near the rev limit and into 4th. 10 seconds on Google gives me a list of max speed per gear on a 350Z and that would seem to be around 90MPH in 3rd?I love watching videos of performance cars being driven & enjoyed.. but not really on public roads, and not when people just don't have the balls to admit they're breaking the law and have to try and hide behind technicalities and loopholes.

k. The OP wasn't driving like the vast majority of the general public, he seemed in control to me and wasn't doing anything over the top.
In control like when the back end started to get away from him on that roundabout towards the end of the video?

Not undertaking mate, the road spilt off there as one side heads on to a Mway and the other A roads.
It definitely looked like you undertook that lorry towards the end there. I have to echo the comments about your steering technique too, criss-crossing hands, letting the wheel spin as the wheels straighten, driving one handed, excessive time with hand on the gearstick, fixed input steering in situations which really did not demand it etc. I'm sure someone will be along shortly to say "He is still alive isn't he?, why does good technique matter?" but saying as the car seems to get away from you, particularly on roundabout exits, that kind of sloppiness and poor steering discipline could catch you out.

Yes, did he crash? Not everyone can get sideways like they do in the movies.
We all like to give our cars a good punt here at PH, but there is having a cheeky foot-down and there is losing grip at the back, in traffic on a major roundabout. While no one here is going to say "Don't drive fast", I would hope that common sense and having a sense of responsibility, if not for yourself then at least for other's safety would never fall by the way-side.Mastodon2 said:

No.
If you read my post over the page, I predicted this response and you have delivered admirably in that respect. It's a a case of doing something dangerous and getting away with it, then labelling it as "not dangerous" in light of that success.No.

Just a simple yes or no will suffice.
