Retro Cars Show
Discussion
i know most of you will be at PistonFest but those who ain't who's gonna head to the Retro Cars show at Santa Pod on Sunday???
i'm going and as previously mentioned around the site i will be taking my car down the strip for the first time...
look out for this:
if its general appearance doesn't make it easier to spot then look out for the dent in the front! PistonHeads.com on the boot and www.britishracingbeige.com crudely stuck in the rear window for the event!!!
if you do see me come and say hello!

who was the PistonHeader in the white Opel Manta GT/E who beat my brother in my Cav???
anyway, as a quick run down of times:

second run: 18.342 @ 72.80mph (beat a tuned MGB GT)
third run: 18.180 @ 72.20mph (lost to a tuned mk 1 Golf GTi)
from my mates that went:
Nissan 200SX = 16.0
Tiger Super 6 = 16.2
VW Golf GTi = 16.9
Vauxhall Cavalier (me) = 18.2
Vauxhall Cavalier (bro) = 18.3
MGB GT = 18.4
MG Midget = 19.2
all in all a very good day...

Where did the 19.2 come from for my midget? Barely scraped 20.165. But have plans for the old girl. You and your brother (or JC for that matter) ain't going to stand a chance soon! Hee Hee
sorry, thought you were faster than you were as i never really caught your time!
and don't kid yourself, not only are you abandoning the Retro theme but you'll also be playing second fiddle to the Cavalier 16v

Oh no the Midget isn't for sale anymore. Didn't have the heart to part company in the end. And your going to need more than a 16v to conquer the beast when its done!
Sucker - it'll ruin you! Believe me!
I'll help you with the turbo conversion though. Forced induction is the way forwards....
you're right about 1 thing, forced induction is the way to go... the XE produces 208bhp out of the factory with a turbo...
but as i'm planning on 200bhp NA i reckon i can knock on 250bhp with forced induction (oh, and it doesn't increase my insurance premium!)... that gives me only about 230bhp per tonne!!!
plus my car's better than yours!

Your car is a beige rep mobile. How can it be better than a classic british sports car? Anyway by the time you get an XE in that overgrown chevette I will have flown to the moon in my own private interstella pimp[ machine! Seriously though, your bro said you had almost everything to get the engine in?
