A couple of months ago an alarm 'specialist' removed the alarm from my car in order to fit a new one. Unfortunatly he was unable to fit a new alarm and it would appear that the old one has not been fully removed. As a result the car is deadlocked and will not start.

The main alarm siren has been removed but once the battery is connected the car deadlocks and will not start. I have located the central locking control unit under the dashboard cover. This unit makes an audible click once the battery is connected.

Does anyone know which car this unit came from and how it would of been connected to the old Gemini alarm?

Any advice greatly appreciated...

Don't know if the earlier cars are the same but the central locking relay on mine isn't anything special, it is one of these:

Ebay item number: 300609007353

What year car is it? Why could they not fit the new alarm, depending on what is on there I might be a be to help. My deadlocks are key activated, not alarm.

I'm onto Central locking wiring at the minute, although my control box appears to be combined with the Factory Alarm/Immobiliser!

I've removed all this, have a Meta to go on (Although finding a wiring diagram is proving difficult for obvious reasons!) and dont see why this box cant go altogether
and be replaced with a much simpler version like said Ebay Item. Do you have a Pin out for this relay?

The car is a 1994 L Reg (so early). I am not sure why the guy couldn't fit the alarm...

A guy from another local shop (Audio In Motion) has just been out, and the car now starts! They have fitted alarms to TVRs before and are going to fit a new alarm on Friday - so hopefully all will be good.

He managed to get the central locking unit to think the alarm has been de-activated...

I Have a very crude wiring diagram from the book "The TVR Griffith & Chimaera" first edition

The diagram is crude and refers to other diagrams that are not provided!

The second edition might be better: second edition

That might be of help to you...

Mines a 1994, there's a picture of my combined Alarm/Central Locking unit in this thread.

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Managed to trace all the wiring and sort out whats what so I can bin this, fit a standard CDL Relay and then put a new alarm on that will do the locking aswell! Even got the little green light and button working in the centre! (Thanks Ribol)

I have the wiring colour codes of mine scribbled down if you need them.

Carl did mine a few weeks ago and I believe that the original central locking controller was integrated in with an alarm function (which very quickly proved not to be of sufficient capability to be insurance approved) and this was one of the items that on mine was causing failure - it was definitely on the scrap pile when I went to pick up mine that evening (along with another alarm and another immobiliser than had been piggybacked onto it).

The new alarm on mine is now doing central locking duties without the original box as far as I am aware.

Carl definitely is "the man"...
