1988 S1 Clutch pushrod

Clutch is very notchy and rough, found the pushrod(pictured) is eating it's way through clutch fork, does anyone know if this is the correct part? I can see it would originally be cable on the Ford. Any modification ideas would be appreciated.

I don't think Junglie did the Axial Ball and Socket Joint mod but there are soem other tips for you.
