Help with what car - Been looking for 2 months!
Discussion
I'm looking for some suggestions, my requirements are as follows:
12-18k
5 Doors - A must I'm afraid
Quick (sub 6 secs to 60)
Not bothered by MPG
Must be able to get a low mileage example (sub 35k)
Must come with warranty of works (either approved used or sub 3 yrs old)
So far I've been looking for a low mileage E90 335i, but Saloons are as rare as hens teeth (lots of coups) and I'm now opening up to other ideas. I'm currently driving an eco-shed.

So, M5 performance and practicality, less than 35k miles and under £18k. Plus you want the warranty.12-18k

I think the budget is too restrictive for what you want

Funny you mention that, I was about to suggest that one. But no warranty and exceeds the mileage.http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3466218.htm

Something has to give a bit here... When you say '5 doors a must', do you need a 3-series sized car, or a 5-series sized car?
The only thing that is going to come close is something like this:

Yes it's a diesel, but will crack 0-60 in 6.4s, and is real world fast, if you haggle you get it under £18k, and its from a dealer so they'll chuck in a years warranty for being approved used.

or a 3 door coupe or 2 door convert. no doubt.
Well to be fair the OP did say "5 doors" and then go no to suggest an E90.Does this mean an estate is an option?
This is getting close to the OP's requirements although the spec and trim aren't great and it's most likely just out of warranty - http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3498082.htm

A few grand over and slightly higher mileage but LCI, warranted and I like it a lot - http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3409553.htm

Would consider anything as long as it has 5 doors, 3er or 5er sized or estate.
Happy to give a little on mileage for the right car.
The M5 looks great and could get a BMW extended warranty as long as it had BMWSH, but think I'd be scared of the running costs.
Also considered an Insignia VXR, but dare it say it, worried it's a little 'chav' and a little porky at 1800kg, I suppose probably the reason why all the reviews say it doesn't feel that fast.
