Has ayone fitted a NOS kit to their S series yet?
I'd be inerested to hear how the installation went, also some 0-60 times and how many diffs you have replaced since?
No but I have just ordered a small 'Power Booster' Electric supercharger for the V8S, will be interesting to see the results! Should give 15-18bhp more I am told, we will see. It will help cool the air anyway apparently, which is an issue I am working on!
Mike
There is a NOS kit for sale on ebay, if you want to try.....!

Sounds interesting Mike. Where did you come across/hear about those?
Are you going to insulate the air inlet pipe, or have you got other plans/will the 'supercharger' supercede that?

I have already insulated the air inlet pipe, did that this weekend, and am selling the rest that I dont need if anyone is interested, should be enough for two air inlets!
Just surfing and came accross it, got Simon at Offords to have a look at it to tell me what he thought and whether he thought it would be a help and he said yes! Its only £124 including postage so not bad really and if it only cools the air it will be worth it!
Have a look www.kamann-autosport.com/Start2.htm

Drop me a line with how much you want...
How much of it do you need? Its the thicker 1.6mm good stuff, and it cost me £42 all in. So if we get three air inlet pipes out of it, thats £14 each pipe.
Let me know.

I'll get the tape measure out...

Yeah best to make sure, your pipe is probably smaller than mine, so I have been told anyway....!

Should be able to slap two of them on the V6
"Twin Mini-Turbo V6", Can't be too many of those around. That will give M@H a run for his money......and probably be easier to fit too...or maybe not

Saw one of those somewhere recently.. Can't think where. Was highly skeptical, but if it works, let me know.. I may well have a cooling problem myself as i've a pair of K&Ns and no airbox. If I can get some cooling and a few bhp, might be worth it..

Hmmm. Checked the web site and it looks like a waste of money IMO.
For starters, how can it possibly cool the air? To have any effect on how much air gets into the engine it must compress, and compressing air as everyone knows makes it hotter...
Secondly, what sort of output can you get from a 12v electric fan in a case that size? They say 1282Gal/min which is about 200 CFM or a bit more than you get from a 120mm diameter PC cooler fan!!
I think you'll find a travel hairdryer is more effective and a lot cheaper.
Anyhow, how many CFM of air does a V8 suck on tick over? I think it's probably more than 200 already.
Sorry

The main thing for me is not extra power really, its cooling the air. The V8 produces a lot of heat and the air inlet pipe being metal gets hot and thus the air going in is hot, not good as of course I lose power. I have insulated the pipe with heat resistent sheet and thought if this just cools the air it would be worth the small amount it costs!
I appreciate your input as I have no idea, Simon at Offords said it would certainly help. So you think it wont be able to cool the air then?? I will contact some of the people who have bought it already and see what they say as most seem happy with it, and before you say it, its not quotes from their website its feedback on ebay which is normally accurate!

Hi Mike
Sorry to sound so negative but it just looks to simple to be true :-(
I'm not a Tiv owner yet, but I had similar heat problems with a Scimitar GTE a few years back, the old tub got so hot the fuel used to vapourise in the lines before getting to the carburettor and the darn thing would cut out!
I used some flexible ducting and drew cool air in from behind the front grille away from the radiator to feed both the air filter inlet and to blow over the fuel lines and fuel pump. This solved my problems for what it's worth.
Methinks TVR should have given the V8 a bonnet scoop.

Thnaks for the input, it does seem simple, but some of the best ideas are simple ones so we will see. I have contacted a few people that have bought and see what they say about it, its only £125 so not so much if it doesnt work.
