Hello.

Newcomer, here.

I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to attending PistonFest & meeting a few of you on Saturday night. Cars & beer. Without the kids. Oh yes.

I can't help noticing, though, that every single one of you appears to have a far-from-ordinary vehicle to park next to your tent. (OK, fair enough, this is PistonHeads, but did I see a DB9 somewhere?) 'Got to say I'm a touch concerned I'm going to be lowering the automotive tone somewhat in a Chrysler kid-transporter.

There's no, you know, minimum entry standard, is there?

Pete.

Dont be silly, I started on PH with a Clio, doesnt make much difference to how people get along depending on your car

I've got an old Saab with a slipping clutch that was ping out brake fluid all over my drive earlier. I'm still going in that

In all seriousness though IMHO PH is a state of mind, its not what you drive its what you'd like to drive. So unless you aspire to a Vectra (of the non-BTCC variety) then you'll fit in just fine. See you at the beer tent.

Yep, it doesn't matter what you drive.......from a bicycle to a Bentley, it’s the common enthusiasm for cars (and drink!) that counts.

See you there

Pete, it's the diversity of cars with a common enthusiasm that makes PH what it is. It's not a one make car club. The welcome you receive will be the same as everyone else. Look forward to seeing you later!

Stuart
I have cajoled my kid brother into joining me at PF on Saturday. He's a former TopGear website car reviewer, but he gave that job up to move to the RadioTimes site. This is, of course, a source of great mirth in my family. If he finds out that you didn't bring your DB9 because of something I said, he will finally have a response to all my snide RadioTimes comments, and that cannot be allowed.
Also, if you don't bring it, I may cry.
See you Saturday
Pete.

oi. I'm the kid brother - stop making jokes about my move to Radio Times.

See you in your bus tomorrow.
